Installation/sculpture: Birch, roots, tubers, industrial metal scrap, stones Size approx. 175 x 200 x 200 cm 2024 I’ve got a Thousand Things to Tell You but They’re Mostly Non-verbal Things is a quiet manifestation of what cannot fully emerge through verbal language. The piece is an abstract expression of tenderness, wordlessly assuring and encouraging, quietly telling what is most urgent. The work consists of processed organic and man-made materials, collected by the artist over several years. Crooked mountain birch form the primary building blocks. Parts of worn metal scrap and other repurposed industrial components are given new life, telling new stories through the piece. Root tubers hang like heavy fruits. In addition to being a love letter and an expression of tenderness, the piece also reflects the artist's fascination with seemingly useless objects: found and carefully packed away in a backpack during nomadic wanderings. |
